BRIDGET
1998? - 2007



When she was rescued from the streets of Pasadena, TX, Bridget weighed only 4 pounds and was near death from starvation. She was covered with mange and was infested with fleas and ticks. She was a pure-bred French Poodle who could not compete for food with the other animals.
She was given the necessary treatment from a good vet and was gradually brought back to reasonable health and normal weight. Bridget seemed to be aware of what was done for her because she was the ideal pet from the time we got her.
Of all the pets we have had, she was the best, by far. Bridget was a poodle that did not bark, bite, beg, or lick. She acted like her only task was to give love to us. She was happiest when she was in our arms, whether we were sitting or walking around. When she was held near our chest, she threw her head over onto us as if she was listening to our heartbeat. One of her favorite treats was her daily ride in the golf cart to her favorite places for her regular walk. She did not care much for the company of other dogs but she was friendly with, and enjoyed all humans.
Bridget blessed our lives for 7 years before she began to lose her health. First, she lost her hearing, then her sight, and finally her sense of smell. She could no longer find her food without help. She could go up the stairs of our home; but, she started falling when she tried to come down. In short, her life became very difficult; and, we realized that it was time for her to precede us into Heaven.
The Vet was exceptionally helpful and kind when we took her to him. She went to sleep quietly and painlessly.
